Bubble savings over traditional chain-cut methods Bubble piercing, coupled with the P.E.P. nesting engine, provides large savings in material and cutting. This is true measured against conventional piercing and chain cut nests. Bubble piercing is proprietary to P.E.P. The process of assigning lead-ins, sequencing parts and creating bubbles is completely automatic. Bubble replaces pierces with edge starts, eliminating long leadins, time spent pre-heating, wear on consumables, heat put into the plate ,slag scraping flame tip cleaning, and wear on laser lenses. These nests were created using the same spacing as the original chain cut nests, for an apples to apples comparison. P.E.P. Bubble customers enjoy even better material yield than these nests with tighter parts spacing. This is possible because Bubble puts less heat into the plate and shorter lead-ins are required.
