Quoting with PEP: The programmer was able to convert all 51 parts (multiple material thicknesses), nest, and quote per part in a little over 1 hour. He said that he was able to kill two bird with one stone because the nests that were made for the quote were also used for production as well. Quoting with Bysoft: Had to convert, nest, and quote each part one at a time. All this take 20 minutes per part times 51 parts which is 1,020 minutes or 17 hours just to get a quote per part. He then had to nest all the parts together to produce a nest for production and that took another 3.5 hours to bring in all the parts (multiple material thicknesses), add, quantities, and then nest the parts. This is a total of 20.5 hours to do everything. The programmer also told PEP that they quoted the job at $100,000.00, $10,000 per unit and they got the job. He also said that there was a $9,000 expedite fee for the total job to get the job rushed through and they made money on that as well.
