Kit Nesting

CAD FILE, DRAWING, PRODUCT, ASSEMBLY, AND KIT This document explains how a PEP KIT is created and the feature benefits of a KIT. PEP TERMINOLOGY CAD FILE - DXF, DWG, PDF FILES DRAWING - CAD file converted into a PEP part saved to the PEP Master Drawing Database. PRODUCT - two or more drawings saved to the Master Drawing Database and the Product Database. The drawing name, material and qty that make a kit are saved in the Product Database. ASSEMBLY - same as Product. KIT - same as Product and Assembly, shorter word used to save characters. DISPLAYING OF KITS “Kit” two or more parts that make up a Product, same as Assembly. PEP directories display a KIT in the format shown in the picture below (Ex: Kit 0312 shown below). . The KIT name appears on line 1. . The drawings that make up the Kit are indented with brackets on lines 2, 3 and 4. NESTING OF KITS 1) Entering a quantity of 10 on line 1 of the Bullet input screen above will create a nest of 10 kits. Nesting multiplies the Kit quantity times the part quantities nesting 40 parts as seen in the nest below. To nest full plates of kits refer to Kit Nesting explained further on.
